KLEEMANN: Innovates to protect public health

KLEEMANN continues to innovate with the aim of protecting public health and incorporates technologies and materials into its products to enhance the health protection of elevator users.

In this context, the company recently proceeded to the construction of an elevator shaft with copper alloy sheets, which was certified as the first antimicrobial shaft in Greece by the scientific team of the Hellenic Copper Development Institute (HKDI). The relevant research carried out in collaboration with HKDI led to the conclusion that the shaft achieved antimicrobial coverage of over 90%.

It is noted that the copper alloy is certified as antimicrobial by the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), while copper is a “green” material. According to the International Copper Study Group (ICSG), 41.5% of the copper used in Europe comes from recycling, thus saving energy and reducing CO2 emissions.

This specific innovation by KLEEMANN is added to the Air Purifier technology used by the company, which operates in 2 phases and uses “Molecular Materials” and UV radiation to completely sterilize the air that is channeled into the elevator car (with 99% effectiveness against bacteria and viruses) and to the contactless activation buttons that the company has, which provide 100% antibacterial protection.

KLEEMANN has already filed an application for a national patent with the Industrial Property Organization (OBI) for the antimicrobial elevator.
